The patented Tangentially Fired PlasmaWhirl® System incorporates 3 or more plasma torches mounted to fire tangentially into a boiler, gasifier or reactor. By utilizing a multi-entry ceramic lined cyclone separator as the gasifier coal ash is collected at the bottom while syngas exits the top.
In addition, the entire gasification stream can be water quenched thus cleaning the syngas prior to combustion. By flowing the syngas into FPL's patent pending SoTrolysis™ system, sulfur species are collected along with mercury, vanedium and other heavy metals. This is a novel approach for Hot Gas Scrubbing Syngas, thus eliminating lossed due to cooling in traditional wet type scrubbers.
The T-Fired PlasmaWhirl® System is available in RF electrodeless modules up to 1 MW, and upwards of 10 MW using the patented Carbon ArcWhirl® TriCat Torch.
